Hi, my name is Lisa Becker! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Some words describing Lisa

As a Solutions Engineer III at GitHub, I help corporate customers across EMEA understand, evaluate, and get the most out of the GitHub platform: from live demos of GitHub Enterprise to untangling technical questions and shaping how organizations adopt GitHub at scale.

My foundation is in machine learning: I previously worked as an ML Engineer applying NLP and large language models to real-world products, which keeps the increasingly AI-driven side of these conversations close to home. I also freelance as a technical reviewer and course instructor for O'Reilly Media, teaching "Fundamentals of Natural Language Processing" and various webinars about LLMs. My background is in General Theoretical Linguistics (BSc) and Cognitive Systems (MSc) from the University of Potsdam in Germany.

But hey, it's not just about the code! I'm on a mission for ethical AI and am big on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), got selected as Google Women Techmaker Ambassador in 2024, I'm a certified #IAmRemarkable facilitator and a McKinsey Forward alumna. In my spare time, I love exploring nature, tending to my indoor garden, playing the cello, doing or teaching yoga, organizing, going to and speaking at meetups/conferences, reading books, or creating and playing video games. ๐ŸŒฒ๐Ÿชด๐ŸŽป๐Ÿคธ๐ŸŽค๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽฎ
